Sometimes we all need a change of pace, needless to say I always look to my hair for the change. As now my hair is a burgundy shade I feel as I have filled that void for change!

I have been wanting a silver watch just like my Michael Kors lucite watch with gold face, but since those are investment pieces I was unsure what to do. I found the silver watch below at New York & company for $10.00. I'm impressed because the watch works well, fits well And looks quite similar to the style of the Michael Kors.

The season is not complete without the addition of a vintage tinsel Xmas tree with some bold color accents. I love the simplicity of the tree, and the ability to tailor it to my style accordingly.

Nothing beats high-end lip products.I must say Dior lipcolour is divine in shade 999 Rouge Ara. The color is classic, creamy and moisturizing in comparison to most reds out there.

I have heard so much about the healing properties of Fresh cosmetics and so I made sure I pick.up the sugar rose lip treatment this time, a great buy indeed. Perfect to apply before makeup then when you apply lipstick the color will go on smooth. I have not noticed any excess slip to wear the lipstick with bleed or smear.

I'm so happy to have found this antique coinpurse to match my bag of the exact same style. I love the classic 50s beaded style. Could be casual or dressy.

DIY Seaside Home Decor

I have fallen more in love with seaside influenced decor. Not that I'm not obsessed with anchors...already. But, I decided I needed some more ocean inspiration here in Arizona. My bathroom is a gorgeous teal blue with a blue bird and foilage motif, very vintage. Accents are oak, darker maple and canvas. I have two small shelves previously hung with randoms on them and a stretched canvas with fron in between.

Added to the mix: dollar store sea shells, frames. Misc pearls, beads, stones that I had already on hand. Michael's glass bottles with cork tops, $.99 as well, 'Goop' glue to adhere shells, and my personal photos of ocean, lighthouse, seagulls, also a cholla skeleton for added texture!

Ok..I AM a Kate Spade addict. I LOVE her classic vintage influence mixed with modern patterns, colors, etc. I am a sucker for her products. I have many in my collection and I will continue for years to purchase more and more. I wanted this oilcloth shopper tote for my trip to Cali because it will hold many essentials for our shenanigans and questing about town. I found it on clearance at www.zappos.com

Aldo wedges are amazing when you get them on clearance for $23.00 a pair! Cannot go wrong!!! Buy them in every color! Check out their 70% off sale.

Another amazing clearance find, $19.00 from $38.00 and is super chic, super vintage styled, very 50's. Double and triple stranded crystal and beaded necklaces were all the rage. I LOVED this and am really considering making something like this with basically the same types of crystals I ironically have been eyeing for months now. Just was not sure if people would catch on to them. I guess us vintage lovers will. ;-)

Hello dolls, I am very pleased to say I have made a decision to sew&sell some of my own apron designs. These are designs I've had filed away and came across recently, I really put so much effort into my undergrad fashion projects, I should see these through. The collection is black & white themed. Very feminine, very 40's. I will post inspiration photos soon. I had made mini mock ups, I may be able to track down and photograph as well.

On a different note, I have fresh crisp white shellac Nails! I have never had sculpted acrylic with white on top. I love them. Feminine all the way!

Oh!!! I am about done with a piece inspired by The Hotel Del Coronado, my "crown jewel" piece. Photos to come!

40's Cold Set

Its been awhile since I have done a cold set but I love the authentic results that I achieve. I should get back to basics of doing my hair this way regularly. Setting pattern--large sponge rollers all rolled downwards at ear height. Mixed in a few medium sized for top layers.

Collage & box display

I have had these acrylic boxes sitting in my closet holding dvds, artwork, art supplies, etc..and it was taking up space and driving me crazy. I decided to utilize them to display shoes, my gorgeous handbags, vintage books and jewels'. I am unsure of the placement at this point but will keep it here for the time being. I hung up my remaining frames for my collage and am very pleased that I have completed that piece. What next?

$10.97 from Walmart gets you these awesome vinyl cut out, they are super easy to apply, leave no bubbles and you can move them anytime you want! I have a lot of frames to hang as I made a collage a few years back. That should complete the wall decor needed. Next onto the shelf...maybe organize by color perhaps?

I have become rather bored with my space, as I frequently do and am on a new quest to amp up the design and utilize all of my fancy vintage collectibles. I am in need of a little closet cleaning and from there I can begin to rearrange and declutter a tall shelving unit I have. I want to showcase my gorgeous vintage handbags but on my shelf, not record player console. And my jewelry has become a major challenge, fighting the battle of preservation and showcasing. Also..talk about 4 white walls. ...artwork please. I want to liven up my pillow selection as well for my pillows to pop against the all the sage green quilt action. I have made some updates but I want to continue the process. Advice welcome.

Satin 'billy shorts, dotty wedges & smokey eye makeup

I find myself trying to wear shorts this season, much more than previous years, only problem is that I don't have many to pick from. I love satin pin-up style shorts and luckily I do own a pair. I love the look of twill tailored shorts as well. Paired with a fitted top, wedges and a clutch the shorts are much easier to wear.
On the eyes : benefit lemonade primer, Sephora white shimmer eyeshadow, MAC eyeshadow in contrast, loreal lineur intense in noir, clinique bottom lash mascara, great lash mascara, neutral skin colored highlight to blend crease, salon perfect false lashes cut in half to complete the smokey eye

OOTD--hot summer day done rockabilly style

112° was the temp here in Az, so naturally I wore a nice flowing dress from Forever 21, from 2006. Very fitted in the bust, ties in the back. I also wore adorable black and white polka dot espadrilles and paired them with pearls to mock the polka dots. The purse was a hells belles backseat bag and of course the shades were my classic Tres Noir ultra lux in red.

The arsenal--cat eye liner & new brushes

I have been asked so many times about how I achieve the cat eyeliner precisely. Well pencils And I do not get along and honestly they don't emulate the classic shape that cake liner will; liquid is a close second. Laura Mercier takes the 'cake' On this one...literally! But, I find using a product like fix + by MAC or Napoleon Perdis cake line sealer and an artist brush works Like a dream. I have been doing this naturally for years, but some days it doesn't go as well as others. I love to use fluidline or gel liner products but beware they may transfer if the pigment is very strong. Below is my arsenal of liners, which may change as Well. I got on a pen liner kick for awhile but those do not have a long lifespan and may irritate sensitive eyes.

I have been wanting to buy some new brushes but don't want to drop money for them, enter ELF brushes! I own many of them now and am very happy, I hope these are the same!

Pin up hula shoot this weekend -- was postponed from last. Shell compact will make its appearance!

Hair update!

I must share my new fat foaming love! Coolest product ever and it worked Great for me. I recommended it for my mom to test out as I'm very happy with my results! Will repurchase for sure! I took some before-- > after pictures! I blow dried on low and put in a set of hot sticks and ta da!! Brush out for a few mins and spray! The thing I've learned is...I cannot brush my hair enough after a cold set or hot stick set. Hula pin up shoot Monday (later today) wooohooo!

Gorgeous swirled luminous body cream by Calgon. The scent is very pleasant resembling a late 90s, early 2000s dream angels line from Victorias Secret. And, let me tell you my skin has not felt softer after using a lotion. A new love for sure!

Ill be doing a hula dancer pin up photoshoot in a week so I'm preparing and putting together my inspiration!

Talk about some gorgeous lucite, I love the tones in this powder container and I had to have it as the perfect beginning to my vintage cosmetics collection. I have a compact which I have had for many years, empty with the puff and sifter still inside, the mirror is in perfect shape and I carry it around with me constantly. I am thinking of actually putting some things in this, whether it be a dusting powder for the body or just some cotton and little items like that as I already have some beautiful porcelin cups for brush holders. Any suggestions?

Lovely vintage style earrings, super cheap at $3.80 And classy all at once! Not to mention, my favorite color. Also, my gorgeous new green crystal bracelet..very excited about that as well. Vintage Kitchen Canisters--in progress

Today my love and I found what we had in mind for the font stickers to label the canisters. They're "thickers" foam stickers. The sans serif font and vintage teal shade was exactly what we wanted. After we came across some raised glitter bubble stickers That were supposed to be snowflakes but fell into the 50s strata category as well.. mine!!! They came with teal and silver and also dots to accentuate the stratas. I shall be picking up more soon and adjusting the letters to perfection. Next up: bread box, silverware...

Here I'm wearing loreal infallible lipcolor in 'beyonce'. I love the way it looks but it peels off a bit after drinking and eating so that part is a downer. Any suggestions?

Awesome score on kitchen essentials!

The man and I went antiquing and found this great Pyrex-style bowl with Retro strata print on the lid. We had to have it at only $8.50! Target 'RE' collection recently had a white, blue, red, black and baby yellow color selection of these canisters, bread boxes and swiveling utensil holders. Each were $14.99 and we were very much drooling over the thought of them in our Retro kitchen. Granted we are still in the process of saving for a home, but why not collect what you can when You can. We found the yellow canister set (of 3) on clearance so we figured we would pick it up, as we are going with yellow and aqua blue for the kitchen. I plan to label them on the clear front ovals with vellum stickers And paint a design as well. More pics to come!

Most of the time I spent in class this past weekend but still I manage somehow to stay productive will sharing the vintage love. I fell asleep to Lucy comedy hour and "some like it hot" which I must say I adore. This happening after a long week and much needed rest! Monday purchase- Lady Lucille Watch

I am so thrilled to report that I am now the proud owner of a vintage watch ( which my amazing Aaron purchased for me)made by Lady Lucille, and covered in rhinestones and it is a 17 jewel watch so its a wind up watch, requiring no battery which is amazing! I am so glad I found this because I have been dreaming of owning a vintage ladies watch, but it was one thing I was unfamiliar with, so I was not sure whether to go for a gold or a silver, but this one is timeless and will be worn each day! I saw several Bulova and Elgin watches but I knew this one was the winner!

I have recently tracked down the best compartment dividers for a vanity space, I had seen them used by some other gals and I was just in love withthem since I saw them. I have been searching for quite awhile for them and just now found them at Target! I am also showing my adorable Zoe brand brush as well as my new mascara love and the best rose salve for lips/skin which is proving very useful this winter!

So after many years of dreaming and drooling over the thought of opening my vintage reproduction boutique, I have begun the process of re-working and re-writing my lengthy business plan, thankfully I have some grad school peers that are assisting with the marketing plan as apart of a class project, every one wants to see this plan into action. I cannot stress how thankful and pleased I am for this opportunity and I am working hard to apply for business license, trademarking, etc. Since we all know vintage repro and psychobilly/rockabilly is a subculture, this is a challenge to inspire, teach and draw in some new people to this idea of of the vintage lifestyle. I will do it though. Location, location, location is going to be my key. I have selected a few main brands to look into wholesaling for the store, like: Stop Staring!, Bettie Page, TUK footwear, Sourpuss, Tres Noir eyewear, Hell's Belles Handbags, Lucky 13, and potentially Rock Steady. Does anyone have any other ideas of what would really sell? Being that I live in Arizona the thought of placing this in the college area would draw in those subcultural college kids. I also know there is a disposable income available there as well. Any ideas?!

Hello dolls! I just did a Cheesecake photo shoot with my lovely future mother-in-law Laurel whom is a photographer! She took them and we both edited them, I did the final editing in hopes to make them look like they are real old vintage pin-up prints! Also I have some paper doll books that were graciously gifted to me and a LuxDeVille teal glitter-infused clutch. I have picked up some new shoes, I love the red satin Nina shoes that were $16.99 and the Nicole shoes that were $14.99. I went to Joanne's and we purchased some nice fall sateen place-mats in a gorgeous red rust shade. Enjoy!

Well...fall is steadily approaching, our one year is this Tuesday and I can't say how thankful I am for all the fun and love we have shared. Life is worth living when you see how to appreciate it. I am so ready for more antiquing. I'm in the mood lately to collect all the vintage reproduction stocking/nylons I can for some biz cas and fancy date night outfits. Any recommendations? Hello lovelies, I have just purchased some wonderful new items and a classic fragrance. The crystal "snack set" I purchased for $2.00...yes that is right only $2.00 it was a steal at the very least, original packaging as well which I cannot say how much I adore that. I also picked up a matching rhinestone bracelet to my gorgeous necklace Aaron purchased for me for my birthday. I have been searching for a beaded 50s handbag in a cream or white, found one WITH lucite on the clasp, I mean...yep that had my name all over it, how could I not. $14.00 for the 1950s beaded handbag WITH lucite. Lastly, I decided to order Ocean Dream perfume, a tribute to my favorite place of Coronado Island. The perfume hasbeen around since 1966, and although I do not care for much past '64 I do enjoy this scent!

A stunning lucite clutch my grandmother gave me for my birthday--amazing gray swirl, some cute vintage clip-ons I acquired from a sweet lady at work that were her mothers, an adorable petticoat with colored trim around the bottom..and my gorgeous belle blossoms birthday flower!!!

Hello lovelies! I am back in action on the blog, took what seemed to be a hiatus! I have decided to discuss my love for vanishing and cold creams. I used them for awhile a year back and then fell out of using them out of convenience purposes (or what I thought) I have since then decided to start back up with using them and I must say I do not know why I ever stopped! Its love with the rose scent and the refreshing properties. Granted--this is not a routine for everyone, those with oily skin types may not really enjoy this as much as I do since I have very dry skin, all the time. I like to use the cold cream in the shower or bath, as it is much easier to ensure removal of all the product. The vanishing cream I have been applying in the mornings and before bed, it is light enough to soak into the skin at anytime and provide me with lasting moisturization. I believe that the Boots brand is the best for this range of vintage products. As Fleur De Guerre uses--witch hazel is also a great toner. I will use that every now and again but mostly my Clinique toner for very dry skin works great when I feel it necessary. I am very happy to say that I am back in vintage in the skincare department!! I hope everyone is doing well.

We were able to track down some antique stores, get ahold of a sweet retro chip and dip bowl set for $10.00. And, Aaron played two shows back-to-back. Late March Antique Purchases

Hello darlings!! I have finally been able to go out antiquing with my man, we stopped by a few new places for us to check out and I totally scored on an 1960 fitted black dress, epitomizing Jackie O. I love the dress, I already wore it out to a psychobilly show on Friday night, and it was so comfortable! I have also many other treasures to share that I have photographed, at my grandma's house this Easter Sunday. I love love love love her vintage teal Pickard china set and her gold leaf printed glasses. I also took the time to photograph my grandfathers WWII scrapbook and some other items he had saved that she held onto. I shall post photos of those very soon, but till then, here are my purchases, COMPLETE with a LUCITE PURSE!!! I have wanted an original 100% Lucite purse, no repro just legit!

Mid March Ramble

Hello guys and dolls, it has been awhile since I posted last, I have actually just been working full time and been so exhausted at the end of the day to post. But I have taken some pictures here and there when my man and I went to a show and had a night out together. I also decided since I am working one on one daily with 2-5 yr olds that my poor natural vintage-style nails are just getting wrecked. And, that is a travesty. I purchased Kiss everlasting french Salon UV gel effect nails. They are the real short length, square shape and chip free. I love them, they look great on and because they have a clear base on them with a gradation to pink, they look just like the gel nails I used to spend so much money on, back in the day. I will admit, I was an acrylic addict! But, I have since then spent time every week painting and maintaining my real nails and due to work, I fear them breaking and becoming weakened by my job. I think using an extra layer on them and keeping the length underneath is going to help out. I am hoping to go out antiquing this coming weekend, I saw this amazing mauve-toned 50s party dress awhile back, and as Maggie says.."second time mine" is going to take effect if it is still there when I return to that shop. It was STUNNING! I wish I had a photo of it to share. I can honestly say I do not think there is a shop here in AZ that held as much amazing vintage clothing treasures as Hollywood Regency does. I am intending to post some more of my infamous vintage fashion fact videos on my you tube very soon, as I have the History of Bakelite/Lucite planned as well as 1940s Beauty Tips. I sincerely hope every one is doing well, I can say things are looking up for me and that is more refreshing than a cold shower!

My amazing man Aaron and I did a photoshoot with his mother whom is a great photographer. She loves documenting life in photos of her family and friends. She is so fun and easy to work with, she has a great vision already in her mind for photos even before we begin shooting. I love having her as a photographer! We had a great afternoon taking photos at a place called The Arizona Center in downtown Phoenix. It was about 20 minutes from where we live but the grounds were gorgeous and perfect for photos. We also went to Sahuaro Ranch Park which is closer to where we live and took photos there in front of an old tractor and old houses that are used now for tours and of course photo shoots!

Red Velvet Cupcakes for my love

I recently purchased the Revlon Satin eyeshadow in Peacock Lustre- 025. This shade is gorgeous! I wasn't expecting much from the color payoff, as I have not had such luck with good drugstore eyeshadows. I am very fond of MAC eyeshadow in Vex and so I paired the two shades together to make this easy wearable look!

amazing antiques finds

Over the past few days my boyfriend and I went antiquing and we purchased some great finds. Two classic books, one from, 1928 and the second from 1960 ($5 and $2). One will be a treasure for our children some day. The other, just a little read for us every now and again. I also picked up a beautiful 1950s full length nightgown--white with beautiful embroidered pink roses for $27.50. I have been wanting a traincase for ages now, I mean we have been on the hunt for one in decent shape, sure they are everywhere but I have not chosen to purchase until yesterday. The lucky winner is a Samsonite Silhouette Model 1812 in dark gray blue. We stopped at a Savers today and they definitely had the matching suitcase for $3.99, but my man was afraid that it might not holdup in air travel and we may end up losing my precious treasures. We did end up purchasing a beautiful candy apothecary jar in a deep green, matches perfect with my 1940s inspired room for $4.99. I have the perfect spot for it on my console. And, of course I purchased an amazing 50s-60s handbag complete with the coin purse still attached, it is a cream patent with a golden rimmed clasp with flowers and a golden crystal in every center, PERFECT condition ($24.50.)
